Operation Fracturam: Phase 2 - Mission to Excelsior

Hundreds of years of war and suffering in once Holy Empire lead to it's own horrid demise. What was once a great nation now lies in ruins. At it's centre is the once formidable Supreme Mountain City.

The soldier who was serving the rations heard Okashi's delightful voice. She'd never before seen anyone get excited over rations, nor anyone get excited over what she thought was the most pathetic cookie-like cake she'd ever eaten. She just stood there for a moment wondering how and why someone would want to eat these pucks for anything other than nutrition.

"C'mon over young miss!" the soldier doling out the rations would say to Okashi.

*At the soldier's request, I abandoned the General and skipped over to her, eyes alight and curious, as I wondered what this person wanted of me. Perhaps it was to inquire of my candy....my delicious candy. Once near her, I smiled even wider and spoke.*

Hi there!!! What can I do you for?!?

As Okashi came closer, the soldier would prepare a plate of the generic looking boring food for Okashi,

"If you're hungry, you could try this" the Soldier would say to Okashi holding out the metal plate with a fork and knife.

On the plate was some meatloaf that could best be described at cat food, there was some corn, the staple crop of Laurentia, there was a thin water-like sauce that was something akin to gravy, and to top it off, there was the desert, a puck-looking slice of cake that appeared to be a brownie. Okashi also had the option of taking some pale grey mashed potatoes if she chose to.

*At the offering of the food, I would gingerly take the plate and utensils and begin tasting the food right then and there, though rather carefully. First was the meatloaf, which I spat out immediately and quickly replaced with the corn, which I didn't seem to mind. It was all starch anyways. I then, with much excitement and enthusiasm, stuck the puck-shaped cake in my mouth whole. This was of course the most important part of the meal and one I was looking forward most to judge. I allowed the others to slide off as they were normally horrible as most main course human food was. But this...this was what would take the cake, literally. I began to chew and chew, the movements of my jaws becoming slower and slower as time passed. After what seemed like a few minutes, I tilted my head all the way back so that my face was skyward and opened my mouth. The resulting explosion lit up the gloom for several yards around us as the puck-cake erupted from my mouth, having been turned into or engulfed in what seemed to be lava cake....except it was glowing red, like real lava...and was even burning hot to the touch. The stuff shot skyward, probably high enough for whomever to see for a mile around and then returned ground-ward, melting through the ground where the bits hit, though none of the soldiers were hit, miraculously.*

WHAT IS THIS PUNY EXCUSE FOR DESSERT????? YOU HUMANS WILL TASTE TRUUUUUUUEEEE DESSSSSSSSEEEEERRRRRTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*My voice boomed out across our encampment before a wave of force knocked away all of the strange, revolting food the humans were eating. From the holes in the ground where the lava cake had melted through shot newly formed brownie steaks, which shot out to the soldier's plates and began automatically feeding themselves to the humans around me, whether they wanted it or not. The brownie steaks were slabs of thick brownie, sweet, soft, melty, even juicy brownie slabs shaped like steak, even thick like them. They would taste like nothing the soldier's had eaten before....and if eaten, they would be revitalized and their hunger sated. They would also feel energetic, like never before, as though they could each take on an army on their own. That was the sugar power I imparted to the weak excuses they called dessert. I beamed as I waited for the reactions from the soldiers, waiting for their moans of satisfaction over such a delicious meal.*

Each and every soldier would suddenly feel englightened, full, sated, the best they had felt in many many years. Each would be so wonderfully fed and relaxed that most of them would lay down thier weapons, take a seat and forget about the entire mission they were sent on. It was at this very moment that a massive boost of energy shot through them, as if they drank several energy drinks.

"I could take on a thousand men!" screamed out the leader of the group.

"Then what are we waiting for, let's get on with this mission" Screamed another as he picked up his rifle and shot it into the sky twice.

Another soldier would get into his vehicle and begin revving the engine.

Immediately the party would begin moving again, albeit no longer stealthy. In fact, they would probably be attracting things they never meant to. The stealth aspect of this mission was officially blown.

As the party began moving off, two of the soldiers would let out a "woooo"

the General was deep in thought when all hell, sweet sugary hell broke loose. Almost immediately he was pulled out of his thoughts by the sound of soldiers shooting their rifles and revving engines as if having a party. After a second or so, the General's Vernier's would flare up and he would shoot across the ground like a rocket towards the group. He no longer cared about what Okashi had done, what happened was in the past. What was important was what might be coming. These soldiers had little to no experience in their type of environment, and they were supposed to remain silent as not to attract the attention of Mirg, or his Shinigami, or what ever else might be lurking in the area. the General positioned himself in the middle of the soldiers and their vehicles and would activate his HUD so he could detect anything that might come his way, anything that wasn't soul based that is. As for souls users and the like. He had no way to detect them if they were masking their presence using soul/spiritual energies. Sound might work, but with the noise the soldiers were making, that might be hard.

For now, he'd let them enjoy themselves, as telling them to quiet down at this point was pointless. He had to escort them to the Frostfire Springs, and from their, the mission could actually begin.
