the General's Exam Part 2: Finding an Orb in a Desert

A seemingly average arid desert, these sands take to heart the aspect of balance and counterbalance. With arid hot days come bitter cold nights. With rain and humidity in one week comes drought and flash fires the next, with senses of danger comes senses of peace. The land itself is the embodiment of both extremes in shifting, alternating tandem.

♣As tG entered down into the "normal" tunnel, a crypt door would close behind him, sealing off the tunnel going back to the choices he had before. The tunnel, once followed, led down to an antechamber, which was filled with a row of sarcophagi on either side of the chamber. Most of these were broken open and looted, although a few remained very intact. Another crypt door lay on the other side of the chamber, which was covered in Hieroglyphics. This door was sealed, however, the mechanism to open it was no doubt in this very room....it just needed to be found...♣

Upon entering the room the General took note of the close Sarcophagi, immediately, he began opening them searching for anything of use, even before checking the Crypt door. With the first of the intact Sarcophagus he would grab the lid and stand it upright planning to use it at some point. HE would then move on to check another until all that were closed were now open.

♣About half way through opening the sarcophagi, tG would pull one open that was rigged. Mechanical sounds echoed in the walls, as suddenly openings in high points of the ceiling, unleashing waves of black sand into the room, which began to fill it very quickly. The black sand also slowly drained energy upon contact with anything, making it even more dangerous. The key to the crypt door was to be found in the unopened sarcophagi tG had not gotten to...and upon finding it, he would also have to open the door itself, before the sand filled the room completely....and sapped all of tG's energy.♣

As the sand began to fill the room, the General would quickly use his RHS to try and generate plugs in each hole. While he was doing this, he quickly began to remove the lids, as fast as he could. To aid himself he would have his RHS generate rods that grew in size and pushed off the wall to push the lids off so by the time he got to the next one, the lid was fully off.

♣The plugs that tG summoned would hold for a short while, indeed inhibiting the amount of sand that leaked into the room. However, that was only temporary, as the force and energy of the sand would eventually overcome the plugs, forcing them out, and start filling the room again. Meanwhile, as tG began searching through the sarcophagi once again, he would find the 3rd one he opened to hold the key he needed. However, as soon as he grabbed the key, he activated another trap switch, causing more of the black sand to come shooting out of the sarcophagi also. This black sand, being so close to tG, might hit him full force and drain some of his energy. He would also have a problem crossing the room to get to the door, as the floor was now entirely covered with the stuff, and walking across it would probably be very dangerous. The key would fit into the middle of the door and spin to release the locks. Then the door could be opened.♣

As the sand shot up, it would meet the General's Physical object stopping Variable I-Field, when it did the General felt that the sand was trying to drain him, just like the other did. Luckily, his shields were a passive that just activated when needed, and that specific shield was like the one he used to stop Kasane's energy draining effects. The sand however was filling up the floor now, which forced the General to activate his Verniers and sort of hover across the sand as opposed to walk on it. This however wouldn't last too long as the Vernier's only had a set time they could be active. Quickly and without any time to waste, the General would hover towards the door, insert the key and begin spinning it to the right, and if that didn't work, the left.

♣As tG turned the key, the doors would click and swing open, allowing the black sand that was pushing at it to burst outwards into the next room in waves, possibly even carrying tG along with them if he wasn't careful and further draining his energies. The following room was huge...triangularly shaped, the door at one point and the opposite side a huge throne, which a gigantic sarcophagi laying before it. Two single candles burned on either side of the sarcophagi, giving light to the entire chamber. Stairs lead down from the door that tG and the black sand emerged through just seconds before, and the floor lay some 10 down from the door. The walls were covered in hieroglyphics, and there were other piles of golden treasures scattered across the floor. There was no sign of any other exit...nor were there any sign of the Orb...Perhaps in the sarcophagi..? tG would have to find out.

Meanwhile, the doors behind tG remained open, still allowing Black sand to pour in from the adjacent room, possibly endangering the next chamber to become flooded at some point in the future as well.♣

Almost immediately, the General would activate his vernier, he had to, this sand was a pain in the ass even if he hadn't touched it yet. As he burst into the room and looked around, the General would notice the candles and sarcophagi on the middle of a raised portion of the roof in the middle, there was treasure too, but it was soon to be covered and scanning it would be a waste anyways. Without much more though, he jetted towards the sarcophagi and landed at the base of it cutting his vernier off to let them recharge. After landing, he took both hands, concentrated some of his Energy Jamming Shield to both the palms and at the same time, snuffed out the candles. Instantly, he called forth the Banriu just in case something went down. At the same time, his HUD's night vision, and other properties kicked in turning the now dark room into light again.

♣The moment the candles went out, the sarcophagi shuddered, the lid suddenly flying open, unleashing a sudden very forceful blast of pure kinetic force, which if caught unexpected, would throw tG back towards one of the walls. The form of a large mummy rose from the now open sarcophagi, golden bandages weaving outwards from him, as more black sand poured out from the sarcophagi out around him. In his hand, a long golden staff, with an ORB connected to the top, pulsing with energy. As soon as the mummy rose, he turned, unleashing another more concentrated blast of kinetic force towards tG from his staff, and soon after waves of black sand from the sarcophagi moved across the floor towards him, while thick bandages whipped off of the mummy in streams, moving through the air like serpents, and shooting towards tG with golden energy.♣

When the Kinetic Force occurred, the General inside his Energy Jammer would be pushed backwards and slammed into the wall far away from the centre where the mummy was. This sudden crash wasn't enough to daze or push him towards the floor of nasty black sands though. Although at this point, those very sands were trying to flow up and get to him. Once he had hit the wall a purple oval would appears behind him, lighting the room up purple with it's glow. This oval would pull the General inside of it and spit him out right above the Mummy. (Dimension Portal) As he was spit out above the mummy, the General would swing the Blunt hitting and of Banriu at it while at the same time ejecting the Core Blade and spinning his entire body to take a swing at it with the Core Blade. While he spun, he let a massive opening, to counter this, 2 Hammerhead Missiles would be launched out acting like flying sledgehammers. The Hammerhead Missiles were not really missiles, but more blocks of steel that were shot like large projectiles to be used as offensive melee damage weapons or just used to intercept and break apart things.

♣As tG appeared above the Mummy, it would swing its staff around it arcs, using the butt end of the staff to seamlessly block tG's attacks, as though he were swinging a lolly-pop instead of swords. The ORB was also used, meanwhile, to unleash more Kinetic force to blast the hammerhead missiles away with ease, all the while, more golden energy laced bandages would snake out from the Mummy and attempt to attack tG. If they managed to touch him, they would began to turn him and his energies to stone, starting from the outside in. More black sand continued to pour into the room, quickly filling the almost the entire floor at this point, and from there began to rise, filling the room now from the bottom up. Some tendrils of black sand also began to move upwards through the air towards tG from the sarcophagi, attempting to surround him as he fought the Mummy.♣

First the Shell Blade was hit, and when it was, the General would let it fly out of his hand and blast into pixels like it normally would after the General let go of it or lost it. the Missiles were next, and would be deflected and shot into the black sands only to be lost. the General's two distractions worked, and the Core Blade, would be swung around, aiming to use it's Null Strike to purify the bandages heading for the General. This could only be used once, or until the Banriu was was rebuilt. But luckily, this was all he felt he needed. After the purification, the Blade would still be swinging towards the Mummy, and at the same time this happened. 4 Gravimetric Torpedoes would ignite around the General, forcing any sands that came near him to be pulled towards them and require greater force to be redirected back to the General. He still had his shields, in case any of the bandages made it through.

♣As the bandages passed through the purification, they would loose their golden energy, though would continue on towards tG, attempting to still hit and wrap around him, if they could get past his shields, and if they couldn't, they would wrap around those. As the blade swung towards the mummy, it would bring its staff up in front of it with both hands for a straight on block, and as had been seen before, it had the strength to block such an attack. Once the blade had been stopped, the ORB would unleashing another Kinetic Force blast at near point-blank range, attempting to blast tG back again into more Black sand, or if the bandages had managed to wrap around something, simply damage him severely.♣

As the bandages were wrapping around the General's Variable I-Field, the General himself would do the same to this mummy. With that two thin Druanium wires would materialize from the General's area and fire towards Mummy, not aiming to strike him, but the ground on either side of him. At the same time, the General would let loose 8 Metaphisical Energy Missiles which, upon doing so, would all detonate at point blank range. Upon detonation, they would all pop and begin expanding outwards with blue energy, this blue energy when touched would transfer all the energy from the missile and would be sucked onto the point of contact and then spread all over the target evenly to damage all around. Again, at the same time, the General would pull the Core Blade back while unleashing a Volley of Purifying Ice Shards, theat like the Core Blade itself, were able to purify their initial hit target and continue on as normal ice spikes.

(Finally found an appropriate image for the Ice Shards)

♣It seemed that the mummy was not ready for such attacks, even with such power, he did not have the ability to resist tG's latest attacks. After the explosions, the bandages would break, the Mummy would be launched backwards, his body riddled with ice-shards. The staff in his hand would also be severely damaged, and upon the mummy being launched backwards, would simply shatter, the ORB breaking off the end and falling towards the black sand currents that were washing across the floor below, quickly falling into the and soon to disappear and be whisked away.♣
