the Barrier Falls: Excelsior Unleashed Part 1

Fri Jun 05, 2015 10:29 pm

The Kilec Sword blasted towards the Great Barrier, it's goal was to strike it, and upon that the Barrier holding Excelsior locked away would be broken. That was all that the Kilec would do...

Ignatius on the other end, had amassed a large force of undead, each group of 100 or so lead by a Lieutenant. Leading every 30 Lieutenant was a Vicar or Evangelist. The entire army, was rising from the ground, from glowing holes that resembled spiraling fire. Some came from their surroundings, some from the skies. Over all, the longer they waited the more the army grew, and that was just bad. Soon, massive Legendary Class slain monsters would arrive, following them where several high class hollow and a few Vicor which had taken control of them. It was an army that made the one Mirg called forth look like a group of students on a field trip. Behind the army, floating some ten stories above, was Ignatius, whom, before him a portal would be swirling, his only link to the outside world, that which was just enough to control the Kilec Blade. There he stood, awaiting the fall of the Barrier.

Great Guardian was the coming Kilec Sword, it's job was simple, to defend the Great Barrier. Thus, it would extend it's hand with mach 20 speed, speed to great the forested landscape before it was blown away. In one swift action, the Great Guardian would catch the Kilec Blade and grasp it's hand around it stopping it in it's tracks.

The Sword was indeed caught by the Great Guardian, but, like Silvano before it, the Great Guardian would find it's energy being sapped, and at a rate that was extremely quick. This was because it was so close to Ignatius and Excelsior, it's energy, it's Essence, it's life force was being ripped from it's very being, and if it didn't let go, it would possibly die. Ignatius felt as the Great Guardian's power flowed through his portal and into his body. It's speed and defense being added to his thanks to the Essence Reaving he was doing.

Quickly, the Great Guardian found it's energy being sapped away from it's being, it's essence too with that. Quickly, it let go of the Kilec Sword, but even that amount of contact was enough to draw significant energy from it. The Great Guardian's eyes slowly closed, and when they did, the massive humanoid creature would fall towards the ground, knocked out and out of energy. Like the Tartan of the Order, it was no use anymore to the Order.

Just like the Order's had fallen, the one separating Excelsior from the rest of Kwandrivia would too. In a massive loud shattering sound, the barrier would break, and when it broke, a sweeping heat poured from it, spreading over the surrounding landscape for 500 kilometers. Upon falling, a feeling stronger than when the Order's barrier fell would sweep across the lands, the true power of Ignatius would be felt, and the power of the Undead army and their Vicar that he commanded.

As soon as the Barrier fell, red sirens would light up the entire Laurentia Militarized zone, this signaled the Laurentia Military on the other side of the Quarantined zone that something was wrong. Immediately behind the 300 meter tall, 4 meter thick Laurentian steel plated quarantine walls, soldiers would begin to scramble, grabbing weapons and moving towards weapon stores and vehicle hangers. The entire length of the wall would hum as hatches opened up revealing automated Gatling Turrets and Long Range Rail Guns. Several large gate that could be opened, would open and state of the art Tanks would begin rolling through them, some with standard Rounds and others with prototype Linear Guns. Jeeps, armoured cars and other ground based vehicles would roll through, all hoping to engaged anything that came through. Snipers, and marksman would fill the jungles nearby, taking positions where they could easily snipe anything that passed through the initial wave of Laurentia ground vehicles. In the sky, were helicopters, air force jet fighter, bombers and even stealthed craft using prototype stealthing tech. On some hills that were behind the walls, holes would open up revealing long range missiles, that in the event of the Undead breaking through, could be used. On the ground, in a large area, a massive section of a cliff would open up, and from it, a rumbling that shook the landscape around it could be felt, emerging from this opening was a massive mechanical monstrosity, one measuring 25 meters tall and packed with weapons so large that it made Laurentian Battle Ship's main guns look small. It began to walk, and with each step, the ground would quake. Atop this mechanical monster was one of the only ranked fighter that was stationed at the Wall.

It was clear the Laurentian Military was playing around, and it's military might and the Red, White and Blue flag it fought for was all the motivation it needed to roll out.

Pictures of the Military Tech - Think Modern Day, just more advanced, like 20 years down the road, or something like Avengers Military Advanced.
Spoiler:
One of the stronger Linear Tanks, each hand has the ability to weild large machine guns or use melee weapons.

♠As the military forces of Laurentia advanced into the Quarantined zone, a sudden shockwave would blast through the area, its energy visible if one had quick enough eyes, or metaphysical eyesight. It had an orange-ish glow and would surge the forces gathered with energy and radiation, probably enough to do some damage to lighter armored units, and at the very least, cause a sudden ruckus in communications. The shockwave also carried with it a orange dust cloud, which lowered visibility. Then, with what sounded like a sudden stampede, hundreds upon hundreds of undead and monsters began to pour into the immediate area, some whose advance was covered by the previous shockwave, running on foot, dashing with unholy speed, flying from tree to tree, or using them as launch points to attack the military forces. Others broke out of the ground, creating sinkholes, which some of the military units would probably succumb to falling into the depths below. As the undead and monsters swept through, some began to attack the units, unleashing attacks of acid, dark energies, soul energy, as well as physical attacks with enhanced undead weapons and super-human strength punches and kicks, enough to bend metal and shatter reinforced carbonate materials. The rest of the army, on the other hand, made their way straight for the walls that the military entered the area through, clearly attempting to storm through the barrier and move into the lands beyond...

As the mad rush of undead ensued, four massive figures appeared out of the gloom as well, each an undead giant of some sort. As they drew closer, one might notice that glowing orange runes had been tattooed across their decaying grey flesh, the runes projecting metaphysical shields, while with their arms, they began to rip up large pieces of earth or trees and throw them at the military targets, each piece of earth or tree suddenly imbued with the strange orange energy, which made them explode on contact with anything and send out shockwaves similar to the very first that introduced the army. Attacks directed at these giants would not only be stopped, but would ricochet off and rebound upon the attackers, causing them to take damage from their own attacks. All the while, orange clouds began to form overhead, darkening the sky, yet still causing the air to appear oranger and the scene stranger.♠

The shockwave would sweep across the advancing military sending their communications into a temporary blackout, the same radiation and shockwave would hit any foot soldiers and those in open vehicles with a sickness that would eventually have them throwing up, but for now, most were okay. Those who felt any sickness either toughed through it, or just stayed where they were because there was turning back at this point. Most vehicles in the military with electronic components were thankfully shielded from the effects of an EMP, but those that weren't such as older vehicles would immediately shut down. In the sky, several choppers could be seen shutting down and immediately and uncontrollable swirling to the ground where there end would be met, if not by the fall, then the explosion that followed. Any ground vehicles that met the same fate suddenly found themselves pulled into a Sarlack pit-like hole, where their fate would end. Otherwise, between the explosions and screams of people being pulled down, not a single bullet was fired, those who were still there, pressed forwards, just as they were ordered. Suddenly, the ground before and beneath the soldiers would begin to shift as supernatural forces began to attack from it using acid and physical strikes with the capability to tear armour and people to shreds. It was here, the bullets would begin firing. The shockwave, lack of communication and the sudden appearance of "enemies" behind their line of advance was enough to send the organized military into pockets of unorganized chaos. Choppers in the sky that did remain would move ahead of the lines of Laurentia forces and began firing, blindly into the jungle below, they didn't know what they were looking for, and didn't know where to start. One thing was clear though, the military was not prepared for an attack such as this, money, military spending or not.

The walls were the line of defense that was the greatest, on these walls, turrets capable of turning a tank to shreds of scraps were there, and upon seeing anything not Laurentian would begin to fire, their Gatling guns sending out hundreds of bullets every second they fired. Soldiers atop the wall, snipers and the like would begin shooting at targets they had never seen before, and might never see again. At the walls main gate, the largest of the gates, the giant Laurentian mech would stand there, with several smaller half mech half tanks around it. Inside the giant hulking mech would be the 4th Rank General, watching his systems and all the feeds as they poured in. His military was in shambles, it's forces broken, sick, and unprepared for the undead. That's when the giant monsters, the giant undead could be send hurling rocks, trees, tanks, or whatever it could grab into the mix. If the impact from trees or rocks didn't kill the soldiers, the shockwave would finish them off. Protection or not, too much radiation was just bad for any human.

The 4th Rank General from within the giant mech would slowly pull his cap off in shock, never before in his career had he witnessed something as powerful as this. And is this was the strength of the enemy army, then hat was their leader like. None the less, he had to act, and fast. With radio waves and communication int he area jammed, there was no way to contact anyone, it was gonna be up to him to fight back. Soon, the fighting would slow down, it was clear the Laurentia Military was defeated, at least before the wall. The wall was the last defence, in fact, it was their only prepared defense. If it fell, order was given to launch the ICBM's. the 4th rank General didn't want to see it come to that. With that, his giant mechanical monster began to move again, as it rumbled forwards, it fired it's many shoulder mounted cannons ending out missile sized rounds. Adding to this, the 4th Rank General would channel his energies into the mech, this would cause the mechs two arm mounted guns to glow, and not long after that, they would fire off a steady stream of green glowing energy. Each beam would begin coiling around the other, until the two streams became one. The beam's target was the closest of the massive giant enemy undead giants. While the beams fired, the giant mech would begin unleashing a payload of 40 missiles, each aimed at the ground before it, this would hopefully cauterize the landscape allowing him to advance forwards and the escort Tank/Mech to push ahead and defend his much larger one.

In the jungle, any soldiers that remained, if they got the message to, were ordered to fight without retreat. But the odds of any remaining after the undead assault were slim, and the 4th Rank General could feel that.

"Like water to a matchstick, those insects were nothing" Ignatius would say, watching his undead masses snuff out the Laurentia forces with ease.

It didn't take long for the Laurentia forces to fall, and that was good for Ignatius, and even better for his plans.

"If all your new nations are this weak Order, than what to stop me from engulfing the entire world" Ingatius would noticing a single soldier with a bit more resistance to the fight than the others.

After watching his masses overwhelm the Laurentian military, Ignatius would begin moving forwards, towards the jungles, towards the last piece of resistance that guarded the main gate to this defence wall the Laurtentian had put up. As Ignatius floated, he lifted a single finger causing all light within a few hundred kilometers to suddenly turn to Orange. After this, the area around Ignatius would heat up, so hot that the air itself would catch fire, as it did the flames all condensed into a single cone of condensed fire energy. This energy would all then be unleashed forwards, in a single continuous beam of energy, that was no smaller than the giant monsters that were summoned before. The beam was superheated, and insanely hot, and it's target was the main gate. But first, the beam would strike the ground before the gate, and move across the landscape like a giant lightsabre, cutting a ravine into the ground and instantly destroying undead, soldiers, trees and anything that happened to be within a kilometre of the impact zone. As the beam moved forwards and it did so quickly, it would soon hit the mech if it didn't move and after that, easily breach the wall and continue moving. Even then the beam would continue to cut through the landscape beyond it, and continue then until it finally left the planet itself. As this beam was fired, several smaller ones, much smaller ones would be unleashed, each heading for various smaller gates along the wall, to as intended, punch their way through making exit points for the undead. After the beam was fired, the light in the area would return to normal, albiet still orange. The landscape was about to resemble Excelsior...

As fast as he was without, he was with, that was the 4th Rank General, he found himself strapped to a large slow metal machine that found itself struck by a massive beam of red flame imbued light. There wasn't any thoughts that crossed his mind, or rather there wasn't time. The beam of light, at the speed that matched light would slam into the mechanical goliath, melting through it and the small forces that moved around it. Not soon after, the poor human strapped within, would find himself burning to a cinder, hot metal and energy striking his body evaporating it as if it was there. The mech was finished and the wall behind it, while lasting longer, also fell. As the wall fell, the beam would continue on, cutting a massive canyon-like scar in the landscape, a scar so large it would easily become it's own landscape. One of glass, molten obsidian and soon to be water flowing into it. Trees around the new canyon were either burnt to a crisp or were evaporated from the intense heat the beam gave off. As the very end, the beam would stop, and detonate, expanding 100 KM in each direction to engulf the landscape around it. The scar in the land itself was 700 KM long and was the perfect pathway for the undead to storm through on thier way to Keiz, the city of Morgenstall, the Outlands and Kingston City. Fires and smoke would billow into the sky, clouding the area around it with ash and smoke as if a volcano had gone off. Any thing in it's path, was no more...
