Coming Ashore

A small town near the border of the Order is where people first arrive when they come to these parts. Aside from a few small welcome inns and shops, there isn't much here.

As Arren closed the gap, the Necro Skeleton would begin moving backwards while keeping distance. However, it was too slow and Arren was quickly catching up. Before the Necro Skeleton could swing it's fist or react, it would find itself under direct assault. To make matter worse, it was now at risk of being knocked into the water that was all around the dock it had backed onto. (Leaving it up to Arren weather or not they fall into the water)

(Sorry this took so long, seems without many people to post anything, I'd lost motivation, maybe once this thread is done and Arren is free to explore the world itself, things can get a bit more interesting)

Arren's breathing was heavy, and his eyes pupil-less but frenzied all the same. He committed himself to the battle lust and she'd taken over as a cruel mistress usually did. Arren's forward rush carried much more momentum than he anticipated, but it didn't matter. He seized skeleton leader in a vice like bear hug and continued barreling down the dock and over it edges to plunge into the murky depths of the deep.

It was much easier to succumb to battle fury when your stomach was empty and you were running on fumes. Once, Arren began running, he felt just how drained he had been. When the skeleton was seized, Arren had already passed out and his body was working on a "sort of" auto pilot. It ran until it couldn't and submitted itself to sinking.

(Oh I totally get it. I haven't had much motivation to do any writing either. You never realize how much other people galvanize you until they're all gone. I'm still super into Arren though! Don't feel obligated to force yourself, I'll probably always come back lol)

As Arren and the Skeleton plunged into the waters, the Skeleton would find itself sinking, and unable to swim, and it sank much faster than Arren would due to it not having anything but dense bones. After a few seconds, several dozen Order Police, Soldiers and Guards would arrive in the town, each dawning various types of equipment. Some were technological, some knights, some looked like they belonged in 2017, and some even looked like steampunk. These people were those who volunteered to work for the City of Order. The Order's guard would all begin moving into the city, and each would begin searching homes and what not.

A few moments after they arrived, the area would return to normal and people would begin returning to thier homes, jobs and whatnot.

"Seems no one noticed you in the waters" A voice woudl say from the end of the dock.

The voice was deep, booming and thunderous as it spoke, and the person it came from looked to fit the voice. He was over 6 feet tall, has muscles that would make any body builder jealous and wore armour that looked barbaric, but much cleaner. Most indistinguishably was the fact he resembled a lion fused with a human. The lion man stood at the end of the dock and looked into the water, a moment later, he would set down his Lance of Longinus and dive in, he didn't particularly enjoy water, but he would throw that dislike aside to save the life of a newcomer.

Image

After swimming out, getting Arren then taking him back to the shore. The lion man would call over any medical personnel. He would then step back as the medical personnel preformed CPR on Arren. If CPR was not needed then other mean would be taken, even means that used magic or technological means.

(Good to know someone is still interested :D)

Arreeeen... Arreeeeen...

Sinking into the deep, Arren could swear he heard a female voice calling his name. It was impossible to really be able to hear a voice within the waters, but Arren knew that in his passed out state that he often had hallucinations. It wasn't a first time occurrence. In fact, he imagined the voice for most of his life... after his mother disappeared.

Wake up dear... Mommy isn't ready to receive you...

The female voice whispered in an angelic tone. A sensation of warmth began to swell within Arren's body, the sensation of being enveloped in the embrace of another being. Arren felt safe and secure, more safe than he ever had in his life. The freeze temperatures of the waters in which he was submerged were neutralized.

Mo-mother...?

Coi ui ti tairais, Tiichia Ir. Wux zklaen ti. Ti sjerit.

Arren didn't understand what the voice was saying to him. These delusions were always the same. The voice started out with a language he could understand before shifting to one he had no knowledge of. He couldn't tell what the voice was saying, but he could tell it was trying to wake up.

Arren's body tensed as his eyes shot open, the blue streak of warpaint across the bridge of his nose slowly fading away the closer to consciousness he'd gotten until it was no longer visible at all. Once the last breath of CPR and chest compressions were done, Arren jolt upright, but not to a standing position. He hacked and coughed, spitting any water that he had swallowed out to the side, in complete disregard to the medical professionals that surrounding him, and getting one of them, a younger woman with raven colored hair and amber eyes, covered in his regurgitation.

"The skeletons!"

He bellowed loudly, swiftly taking a glance around him to see that the village had returned to normal and there were no more skeletons in sight. Instead, it now looked like the small town had been invaded by an armed military force that was helping to rebuild the damage done to the town by his battle with the skeleton marauders. He settled down some, at the behest of the medical professionals that hadn't retreated to save themselves from being covered in water, and looked to the most unusual being standing among them. A man with the face and body of the proud lion.

(Oh yeah man. The world you and your compatriots crafted is the most fleshed out fantasy world I've seen. Much more than Ves, definitely.)

A sigh of relief would overtake the nurse that was helping Arren. She had been though things like this a hundred, if not thousands of times, especially as of lately as the city only weeks ago had been attacked by Ignatius. This situation was much much easier compared to that.

"Glad to...." was all she could get out before Arren interrupted her.

As this went on, people finished returning to thier homes and shops, and some would even pack up and leave, some others would stay and talk to officials and some just wandered about. All in all, things were back to normal, rather quickly.

Thundarius looked towards Arren, whom was really tall compared to the average height of each race. Thundarius himself was about the same height as Arren, so for once, Thudarius got too look someone at eye level rather than looked own at them.

"Oh, don't mind those skeletons, they were ummm, a test." Thundarius would say in his deep, comforting voice.

"Oh, right, introductions, My name is Thudarius, I am the 3rd Member of the Order. I'm here to congratulate you on passing from Pre-Rank to 7th Rank. " Thundarius would say with a smile on his face, or the best one a Feline/Lion could make.

After this he reach into a pouch on his side shuffle his hands around for something then sigh as he didn't find what he was looking for.

"What might your name be?" Thundarius would ask after searching his pouch, which was supposed to have Arren's information on it.

Introductions were going to have to be done the old fashioned way.

Arren's hand found its way to the shoulder of the woman that was taking care to make sure that he was alright. He hadn't heard her when she tried to speak, but his large hand on her shoulder seemed reassuring and thankful for her aid. It was: It was glad she was sitting so closely so he could force himself to his feet. He had been resuscitated successful, but his stomach was still empty. It hadn't began to growl, but it would eventually.

Arren took a moment to dust off his drying tribal clothing, removing the damp and uncomfortable tunic like top and fanning the dust, dirty and sand off it. On his chiseled right shoulder were tribal markings etched into his skin for all the coming of age rituals that he had completed. They covered almost the entirety of his shoulder and upper arm, stretching to just before the elbow. The were elaborate and meticulous, but right in the center there seemed to be a gaping hole. A spot so noticeably blank that it couldn't be a mistake that it was untouched by any ink.

"Thundarius." Arren repeated the name, needlessly searching his mind for any memory of the name. He'd never heard of it before, nor The Order this lion man hailed from, but the stature of the lion man alone filled Arren with respect for him. To be as large as a goliath and command such a mighty army was worthy of recognition. It surprised Arren that no goliath had ever spoken of encountering a race of lion man warriors, but then the glacial goliath never venture any further south than they absolutely needed to.

Arren looked at Thundarius, confused, "I am Arren. Arren Waters of the Iron Aura." He spoke firmly, resting his tunic on his shoulder and slamming his left fist into his right breast.

"And I don't remember signing up for any tests."

Thundarius looked Arren up and down as he spoke, he took note of the markings, but couldn't connect them with anything he'd seen before, not even the Shrewish newcomers or any of the other newcomers that had showed up since Excelsior had fallen.

"Nice to meet you Arren" Thundarius would say while skimming through some thoughts about where the Iron Aura might be.

"The test started from the moment you arrived on the Island of Order, and you passed it when you showed you had what it took to successfully defend yourself from threats" Thundarius would say almost right after finishing his previous comment.

After this Thundarius would begin walking and then gesture for Arren to follow him. Thier time in the small coastal village coming to an end, and it was time for Arren to venture out into Kwandrivia. Or he could stay in the City of Order for a while and look around.

The nurse whom Arren had helped would blush then quickly walk away while whispering things about not know about an Iron Aura, After that she would head to a medical vehicle and head off to continue work.

Soon after Thundarius began to walk, the loud sound of a Steam Engine could be heard. The odd thing was, was that were no trains ANYWHERE around. Quickly after the steam engine was heard a old looking, but perfectly functional Steam Engine powered taxi would pull up.

"Need a CAB?!" the driver would holler over the sound of his engine, and he would whether or not they were going to the city or not.

Arren placed a hand to his stiff neck and rolled it until he heard a crack and felt a relaxing looseness. He saw no reason to distrust Thundarius, or his words, and decided it best to follow him. Arren knew nothing about this land. The only thing he knew was that it existed beyond the frozen wastes of the thundra from which he hailed. It was a land his mother often told him fantastical tales about. Mostly fairy tales and epic myths, but for all Arren knew all of those stories could be based on true events. None of the stories came to mind.

He followed Thundarius for a while before speaking, "So everything in this land is based upon strength." He smirked with a confident and short chuckle, "Reminds me of home." He whispered under his breath before his thoughts were interrupted by the rumbling of a noisy metal contraption. A mechanized contraption to likes of which Arren couldn't possibly fathom. He didn't appear impressed, not initially, but there was a slight glimmer of curiosity in the deep blue orbs he called eyes.

"What manner of sorcery is this!" He exclaimed, excitedly.

"Thank you" Thundarius would say as the Taxi pulled up.

After this he tipped a bow to the taxi driver before stepping onto the runner and entering the cab. After boarding he looked in the direction Arren was in and gestured for him to board. It was far too noisy to talk, and Thundarius didn't want to roar over the sound of the engine.

When Arren boarded the cab, Thundarius would shuffle over to let him sit down. There wasnt much room, as they were both rather huge muscular men, but it'd have to do.

"Not everything about Kwandrivia, is strength based. The test you took is because we knew you were here to join the ranks. Most people just come for jobs or business, but someone like yourself is here for exploration, adventure and to test yourself. People like you, are what we called Ranked Warriors. Some of you are here to protect, some here to conquer, most choose the light path, but some, choose to be dark. We have no say in what path you take, we just help show you the start and from there, you Forge your way." Thundarius would say.

With every bump on the road, Thundarius' head would ding on the top rail of the taxi's roof.

"Oh, and what your sitting in is a Steam Vehicle made in the Helm Islands, it can transport people across long distances with the power of water and heat." Thundarius would say

"It's almost magic itself" He would add to that.

Arren cautiously boarded the strange metal contraption after Thundarius. If the lion man that knew so much about this land had no problem with riding on it, then Arren saw no needed to be too wary. It was just warrior instinct that kept him slightly on edge. It was a protective reflex thing.

It was a tight squeeze for the two warrior-born. It was only now that Arren realize Thundarius' physique rivaled his own. No... Arren actually couldn't say that. Brushing shoulders with the lion man, Arren could see Thundarius was much more built than he was currently. He was a much hearty warrior, who had probably seen lots of combat. It was like sitting next to a man who rivaled his father, or grandfather, in stature more than himself.

"So there are a great manner of interesting warriors in this land." Many like himself, seeking adventure. Perhaps many running away from responsibilities that they weren't yet ready to uphold, or familial expectations that weren't able to bear the weigh of, like Arren. A man in the eyes of any unknowing race, but still just a boy in the eyes of his own. A boy who couldn't even truly call himself a warrior.

With each bump, Arren placed his hand to the top of his head to cushion the impact between it and the roof of the 'Steam Vehicle' Thundarius took the courtesy to name. Arren had heard a little about the Helm Islands. Not from his mother, but from some of the men of the Iron Aura that weren't sent on expeditions. They would return and speak of the robust Dwarven warriors they met in combat or drank with until they felt the cold chill of death kissing their neck. Some could swear the Dwarfs were distant relations, and would welcome them into their ranks, but others discounted them entirely because of their short stature, regardless of their sturdy builds.

"Where is this magic 'Steam Vehicle' taking us?"

After a while of enduring the head ding from the bumpy ride, Thundarius would lean forwards a bit so he was resting both elbows on his knees the best he could. While he did this he looked towards the outside of the Taxi towards the landscape of the area.

"We're headed towards the City of Order, a place where all races and species live and work in harmony. Bankers, knights, scientists, astronauts and even mages all call this place home. Everyone and everything is safe here. In a place where abilities, powers and weapons not authorized by Farron cease to work."

As the Taxi drove on it would begin to move up a steep hill, one which would cause the steam engine to increase in noise. It'd for sure take some time to reach the City of Order, so Thundarius was ready and waiting to answer any questions.

Arren relaxed in the steam machine. He'd ridden beasts of the tundra ever since he was a youngling and the soothing rocking of a beast (or machine) a sit moved calmed him. Calmed him in much the same why the gentle sway of his mother's arms did.

He took a moment to admire the scenery. Lush green pastures were not something that he saw very often. If there ever was greenland up in the tundra, his clan was probably trampling it with war elephants and burning it to the ground with the flames of unquenchable war lust. Drowning it in the blood of its original inhabitants and forever cursing the land to never grow green again and, eventually, join the solid white wastes of the tundra.

"A city of order?" Just saying it out loud made him want to chuckle. He didn't, but the feeling was there. Arren was a barbarian Goliath. While his race had structure and tradition, hierarchy and culture, it was all, ultimately, ruled by the Law of the Strong. If you had the power, then you made the rules. It was how his father and grandfather rose to prominence and how his sister usurped his birthright and outshined him at every turn. It was why he'd left home.

"Hah! A place where powers and weapons are not authorized?" Arren shifted his position, as much as he could sitting beside such a massive lion man as Thundarius. If he could, he would have beat his chest, but he decided not to rock the carriage more than he already had. "My BODY is my greatest weapon. You intend to remove it at the gates of your City of Order?' He said in jest.
