As winter approaches Kwandrivia, a spine chilling wind covers the lands as a dark force is felt...

Bounty Hunting: Huy-lak the Rogue Slyph Part 2

Image

From a bird's eye view, this black landscape reveals small tendrils in its ground extending like small rivers. These veins are pits of flowing hot magma, melting down the earth it flows on and pushing it somewhere else entirely. The ground itself seems alive, with the heat and occasional tremors. A lone castle constructed out of bones of dead animals and people can be found here. Inside it's walls are horrors that are said to be just as bad as Excelsior.

Bounty Hunting: Huy-lak the Rogue Slyph Part 2

Thu Oct 13, 2016 7:22 pm

*After leaving the Halcyon Shield, I traveled to the next closest place my bounty had been rumored to be seen. This took me into the lands of Coliginosity, which were completely different from Halcyon. I eventually found myself in Gaia's Gorge, which from the name alone, I was expecting to be more like the elven territory of Halcyon. I found I was quite wrong. I began picking my way across the rough terrain in search of my quarry, keeping my Raikoglyff aided eyes peeled and my hands at the ready for my weapons.*

Far off in the distance, beyond a hill in the horizon, rose a massive mountain, it wasn't the largest in Kwandrivia, or even the Coliginosity, but it;s height was in the top 10. From the mountain spewed what could best be described as an eternal ash of heat and magma. From where Kuwa was, he would feel the ground below him shake as a tremor erupted from the volcano far off. As that happened, the magma beside him seemed to shoot upwards sending flaming chunks of stone every which way, it was definitely NOT a place any aerial specialist would want to be found, but non the less Kuwa could keep trying his luck, or simply move onward from the area.

Up ahead on the path he was travelling on, Kuwa would see a single armoured knight, wearing some sort of bio-suit that was not exactly Laurentian, but no exactly Magical either, it was like it was a combination of both, and was very common of Coliginosity technology.

*As soon as the knight came into view, which would probably be sooner than when I came into his view due to my enhanced eyesight, I would slow, unsure if I should continued to approach the person ahead of me, though also wondering if it was my bounty in disguise. Since I couldn't identify them at this point, I decided to try my luck and press on. I continued to walk towards the knight, keeping a close eye on them. My hands hovered over my weapons in case they were of need, but I did not draw them yet. Once I was within an ear shot or so, I would call out to the knight, attempting to get a response so that I could better identify the person before me.*

Hey, you there. Are you patrolling this area?

The Knight quickly turned to Kuwa and began speaking in a rather stern tone.

"Have you SEEN any precious gems around here!" The Knight would say.

After he spoke, he began frantically searching for any gemstones he could find, luck however was not on his side.

*I slowed to a stop at the knight's response, confused and guarded, suspicious of his intentions. I looked the knight up and down, gauging him and deciding how to respond...or if to at all.*

.....No.....

*Replied curtly and slowly. I wasn't sure if I should say anything else, so I waited, standing still, still eyeing the knight, my hands hovering near my sword, my enhanced eyes trained to detect any movement that would mean attack. I still also kept some eye out around for any other people or movement in the area, still searching for the elf in my bounty.*

The knight would continue looking around for gemstones and minerals in the area. As he did, he would slowly and heavily breathe while muttering words in a forgeign language that was a combination of Eleven and Germanic Dwarven. that wouldnt even make sense to someone like that if they existed in the first place.

As the night moved about, he kept his back always facing away from Kuwa, as if hiding something on it. If Kuwa's eyes could pick up on it, they would see a small magical talisman attached to the knights back, one with High Elven scripts, if Kuwa could read the scripts they would read that this was an "Assume Control" talisman. It was small and not easily visible by someone who didn't have any abilities to sense magic or someone who hasn't seen a talisman before.

For now the Knight would continue moving about, searching for gemstone that probably weren't here to begin with. His body moved about frantically, but his mind was zombified.
