Minister Gerard Consont's Escort to Death City

Image

To the south of Death City are thousands of farm and fields that were used to feed the people of the old city built by the Laurentia Empire. All but a few of these fields are in use as most of the people living in Coliginosity are either demon, undead or just don't need to eat. Those who do still work and live trying to grow food with the tainted purple light that breaks through the cracks in the clouds.

Her partners seemed to have felt better about the situation, but the only one who seemed to be uptight was the minister. Hearing Gerard's complaint even if they were hardly two jumps away, she grew a little annoyed. Tatsui ran right next to him, her shoulder pressing against his shoulder, almost any more and she would be pushing. Tatsui gave tight lipped smile, her red hair swinging as she walked next to him.

"Is this distance preferable, sir?"

"Don't touch me!" Gerard would harshly snap.

He didn't bother to face her, or directly look, but he did see her out of the corner of his eye. It was only for a moment that his sky blue eyes peered over at her, then back to the road. He didn't make many movements that showed any dislike to that gesture, but it was in there.

After some more walking they soon came to a cross in the road, and a small sign was there labelling Union Lake and Perimeter Park both with two small arrows pointing towards the correct path. As a collective, the 3 had chosen so there destination was coming soon. It couldn't yet be seen, but it was up ahead.

ΩI turned as we walked and gave Tatsui a wide-eyed look, seeing what she had done. I then turned away a little, pressing my hand over my mouth, suppressing a giggle or two. Clearly Tatsui had both the sense of humor and the bravery to put this guy in his place. I continued to walk, still smiling, although still attempting to keep it at least partially concealed. My roles in Keiz's political stances since we arrived on Kwandrivia had made me very self-conscious when around foreign delegates, and such...thus I guess I had lost my sense of fun. That, and I was always unsure of myself anyways. However, being around Tatsui made it a little easier...somehow she had a knack for bringing it out. I continued to walk with the ground, with the Lake drawing ever nearer. As we approached, I looked ahead towards it, wondering if I had chosen the right course. I had been so sure before...but now I was starting to have my doubts. Fears of the worst threatened to overtake my thoughts, but I rebuked them, pushing them away. I needed to be calm and focused...clear minded, for us to succeed.Ω

♫I watched, also quite surprised, as Tatsui ran up next to the man. It seemed to clearly put him in an uncomfortable spot, which gave me an idea. Stealthily as possible, I ran up behind him, and poked him in the back of the neck.♫

"POKE!!!"

♫I yelled into his ear, as I jabbed my finger into his neck, then laughed manically as I ran over to walk on Kezia's other side, still snickering. I was happy that our group was turning out to be so cheerful and lighthearted. And that Kezia felt better too....I was very happy to see that. Hopefully that remained, even after the mission....at least for a little while. I knew that her and Dad needed to resolve their differences, eventually...hopefully this would help her do that. As I thought these things through my eyes rested on my sister, before following her stare ahead. I then noticed the Lake was drawing closer, and my smile faded a little. It was coming closer, the next step in our journey. I felt ready, a little nervous...but confident, maybe a little too much. My smiled slid into a confident grin, as I continued to stare on, ready to take the next challenge by the horns.♫

Soon enough the lake was in eyesight. It was a much larger and prettier sight than Tatsu had initially expected...than again she didn't have many expectations. A mission was a mission after all.

"There it is! Pretty."

she said rather nonchalantly, her shoulder no longer pressed, but still quite close to the minister's shoulders. A rose bloomed near the edge of the lake where they stood, sapping a little her navitas before it slowly began to replenish itself again.
