I have Rebuilt the Kwandrivia Roleplay World, there are new national banner and a simplified layout that is easier to use and has less subforums. I have also skipped the Civil War Idea I had and just made the new layout with that in mind.

The Laurentia Empire has now split into two nations, the Anglia Empire and the United States of Laurentia.

Getting a Starter Pokemon

Fri Sep 27, 2013 5:46 am

The place was dodgy at best. Port Fortune was definitely not the type of town that Yue Ying was used to it. Naturally, a place less...dangerous on the outside was more comfortable for a civilian like herself. Nevertheless, she traveled here for a reason. A Pokemon. One to call her very own. And here she was in front of this large building, a place they called a Pokemon Gym. The double doors were a little intimidating and through the glass she could see a battle between peers. It was now or never. She set her yellow bag down for a moment, reached inside and pulled out a whiteboard that surely looked as if it would not fit in the bag without being absolutely noticeable. With one hand on her board and another on the handle of the door, she took a deep breath and gave a strong pull.

Yue Ying felt her body give a light shiver as she swung open the door and stepped inside. Everyone might have stopped to look at her, curious as to who came in, whether familiar or unfamiliar. She, in her attire and her deer in the headlights expression, was unfamiliar, therefore everyone returned to their battles or conversations. She stood quietly in the entrance after her assessment, her hands fiddling with a medium sized whiteboard with some embarrassment. She thought it must be strange seeing someone walking around with a whiteboard for what seems like no apparent reason. While she was happy she did not garner too much attention from everyone in the gym, she also needed the assistance of someone who did know their way around here if she were to obtain her starter Pokemon.

*Although not apparent at first, there was a pair of eyes who continued to watch Yue Ying from the shadows. As she began to walk around the gym, she might spot a particularly dingy service counter tucked away in the darkest corner of the gym. Behind the counter stood a pirate of middle age, cloaked in a high collared jet black trench coat and large three-cornered hat which all but covered his features. Glowing silver eyes and a short black braided beard were all the things that could be made out from such a distance, silver eyes which never left the young lady since she entered. When/if she saw him, she would feel a beckoning subconsciously, telling her to approach the counter...but with care....*

She stood there for some time, not knowing what to do. Eventually she noticed the small, dark looking corner labeled with a small sign. "Service counter". Ah...there it is...she thought with uneasiness. She shifted her board from left to right to prolong her need to approach such a shady area. Time passed before she managed to gather some courage to walk up to the counter hesitantly. A hand reached back to grab a marker at random; it was blue.

"Hello. Is this where one would obtain a Pokemon?"

Yue Ying held her board up just a little below her chin, displaying the message to the pirate.

*The silver eyes followed her even as she approached. The eyes the slid across the message scrawled across the board and after a moment of consideration, very slowly, his head nodded. Another moment later, his left hand pulled a tattered scroll out from under the desk, the hand itself nothing more than a little moldy skin around the mostly exposed bones. The scroll, once unrolled, revealed a list of all the water, dark, and flying pokemon starters, that is those which had three generations to them. A voice spoke from under the cloak, dry and raspy.*

"Choose wisely..."

The man's raspy voice surprised her, but she came closer instinctively, squinting at the skin scroll in the shadowed area to look at the choices she had. Her eyes laid on one particular name and she grew excited by remembering what it looked like. A lot of them were in her town and she loved them...she always wanted one of her own. Yue Ying erased her board quickly and started to draw...a seahorse. She turned her board around for the pirate to look at.

"Horsea, please!"

It said on the bottom of the drawing. It was a fairly good one, at least for such a short amount of time. Her excitement beat out any fear she had and Yue Ying was smiling happily.

*the glow of the silver eyes dimmed a little, as though they were being narrowed at Yue, and the pirate paused for a few moments. He would then take the scroll back, and disappeared through a pitch black arch way behind him, almost not visible. After a few moments of waiting on Yues part, the pirate would return, a pokeball in hand which he would hold out for Yue with his rotted hand.*

"Take good care of him...."

She already had her message written on the board.

"Thank you!"

She held it up before putting her hand under the Pokeball and allowing him to drop it in her open palm. She placed the taken ball on her belt and waved a little to him before leaving.
